Our Mission Is to Promote Equality

Historically, Pride Houston is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit that has organized the official Houston LGBT Pride Celebration® which includes the Houston Pride Festival® and Houston Pride Parade® every year in Montrose or downtown Houston promoting public awareness of the need for diversity and equal rights in our community as well as to commemorate and celebrate the history of the gay, lesbian, trans and queer community. We aim to celebrate this cause not only in June but all year round.

We will continue to strive to promote equality and inclusion through celebration and plan for numerous LGBTQIA+ events all year long to support our community.

Full transparency coupled with a goal of celebrating Houston’s LGBTQIA+ community year-round, raising critical funds for youth scholarships, and offering ongoing health and wellness education takes time.

And it equals a 365 days-a-year commitment.

The past year has been marked by unique challenges, including a global pandemic and addressing allegations against a former executive director through legal channels. These trials tested our resilience but couldn’t extinguish our spirit. Our commitment to our mission and community remains unwavering.

Baldwin, and Annie Godley. Kendra’s dedication, leadership, and personal sacrifices have been instrumental in steering us through tumultuous times, upholding the Pride Houston legacy.

Open Registration for Pride Festival 2024

As we celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, we are thrilled to announce the open registration for the Houston Pride Festival and Houston Pride Parade in 2024, commencing on October 23, 2023. Early registration ensures next year’s celebration will shine even more spectacularly.

Affirming Our Legacy

Pride Houston boasts a 46-year history, ranking as the third-largest pride event in the United States and among the top 20 internationally. This legacy stands as a testament to our dedication and commitment to the LGBTQ+ community.
